Hi — I'm Mostafa Esmaeilian, a Senior Frontend Engineer based in Tehran / Iran. For 7+years I've been turning messy product ideas into fast, reliable web apps — mostly with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
How I ended up here
I didn't start out dreaming about component libraries or bundle sizes. I just liked making things work on screen — buttons that respond instantly, layouts that hold up on a phone, flows that don't make people hunt for the back button. That curiosity turned into a career building products used by millions of people across insurance, retail, media, and crypto.
These days I spend most of my time on design systems, performance, and the unglamorous glue between teams: shared components, CI pipelines, test coverage, and the kind of documentation that saves a Slack thread. I've led small groups of developers, shipped SSR pipelines that cut load times dramatically, and sat in enough code reviews to know that kindness matters as much as correctness.
This site is my corner of the internet — a portfolio, a few experiments like the ISS tracker, and a place to write when something is worth sharing. If you're hiring, collaborating, or just curious about how I work, you're in the right place.
How I like to work
- Start with the user pathBefore pixels, I want to know what someone is trying to finish. Good UI is just a clear answer to a real question.
- Ship in small, honest stepsBig rewrites look impressive in a deck and painful in production. I prefer incremental changes you can measure and roll back.
- Leave the codebase betterTests, types, and docs aren't extras — they're how the next person (often future me) keeps moving without fear.
- Stay curious past the ticketSide projects, open source, and odd tools like orbital mechanics keep me learning — and occasionally produce something fun for this site.
